The Israeli Centre for Applied Logotherapy (ICAL)
Our center is a member of the International Association of Logotherapy and Existential Analysis at the Viktor Frankl Institute in Vienna. Founded in 2018, our vision is to promote the field of logotherapy and the concept of meaning in life in Israel through training, consulting, development, and dissemination of content.
About the ICAL
The Israeli Center for Applied Logotherapy (ICAL) was established in Israel with the goal of advancing Viktor Frankl's worldview, training new generations of logotherapists, offering support and guidance, and promoting logotherapy and the existential analysis approach.
We deeply values and honors the special professional and personal relationship with Prof David Guttmann, a close associate of Prof Viktor Frankl and a key figure in continuing his legacy both in Israel and globally. Professor Guttmann has authored, edited, and translated dozens of books and has published nearly a hundred articles and research papers in professional journals. This connection serves as a significant source of inspiration for us and many others to continue promoting the principles and values of logotherapy in our work and daily lives.
The center offers training programs and professional workshops, collaborates with academic institutions and other institutes, and provides guidance to professionals, assisting them in applying logotherapy in their practice. As part of our vision to disseminate knowledge, we publish the online journal "Blogotherapy," which focuses on meaning in life, philosophy, and application. The journal features articles and research by professionals and scholars from Israel and around the world.

Professional Counseling Sessions
Our counseling sessions for individuals and couples are based on Viktor Frankl's logotherapy, emphasizing the pursuit of meaning in life. Meaning is achieved through cognitive, emotional and motivational components, which together form a triangulation framework. This framework is used to test the authenticity of specific meanings in life and to explore developmental changes in personal meanings.
In each meeting we delve into different areas of life through the logotherapeutic lens. As the sessions progress, the topics learned and practiced are integrated, leading to deep insights and the ability to apply these tools in the daily lives of the participants, adapted to their unique environment and fields. This process fosters a deeper understanding and application of logotherapy principles, and empowers people to discover and fulfill their unique goals.
